On the day

Please see the runners guide for all the details on the day regarding bag drop and timings. Free parking is available around the edge of the park, with further event parking at The University of Leicester Sports Centre car park (LE1 7RH), and the Freemen’s Common Welford Road car park (LE2 6BF) available payable with a donation to LOROS Hospice. Please note that the Granville Road car park is reserved for volunteers only, and will not be accessible for general event parking due to road closures. There will be no exit from this car park before 3:30pm.

Please note that headphones are forbidden at this event, and anyone seen to be wearing them will be disqualified. In line with UKA ruling you may wear the new bone conducting headphones which do not restrict your hearing. You are welcome to wear an armband and play music out loud if you so wish.

Transfers / Deferrals

The closing date for any transfers and deferrals is 10th October. For instructions on how to transfer your place please see or for deferrals please send us an email to

The Route

Runners are asked to make note of the split point of the half marathon and full marathon routes roughly around the 5.5 mile mark. Half marathon runners should keep left, whilst full marathon runners should keep right. This will be sign-posted and marshalled so keep an eye out. We would like to remind full marathon runners that there are two railway level crossings on the marathon route at miles 12.5 and miles 15.5. In the unlikely event that the crossing is activated please do not attempt to cross whilst the barriers are down. Marshals will direct you to a holding pen and make note of the time during which you are stationary and this will be deducted from your finish time. Any runners crossing the railway when the barriers are down do so at their own risk and will be disqualified from the race.

That’s all for now!

If you have any further questions please refer to the runners guide, take a look at the routes or FAQ on our website, or follow us on Facebook for all the up to date info. Finally don’t forget that you can always get in touch with us at, otherwise we look forward to seeing you all Sunday 15th October!
