Road Closures & Expected Runner Times

Please see below for a full list of roads affected by The Leicester Marathon and Half Marathon on Sunday 15th October 2017.

City Centre Loop

The City Centre loop encompasses the entire half marathon route – and half of the full marathon route. This starts at Victoria Park before heading down London Road into the City Centre, and then out again via Belgrave Road. At Watermead Park the route returns back along the canal, through Abbey Park and then rejoins the road on St Margarets Way. The route then passes through Highcross and zigzags through the centre before reaching New Walk and Granville Road shortly before the finish.

All roads listed will close approximately one hour before the expected runner arrival times, and will open approximately 30 minutes after the last runner arrival time.

The Full Marathon loop splits off from the half marathon at Wanlip lane and continues through the following villages.
(Syston, Barkby, Queniborough, East Goscote, Rearsby, Thrussington, Ratcliffe, East Goscote, Syston)
