The 2017 Marathon Route

The Leicester Marathon will have rolling road blocks covering the route, these will start from 6am, most will be implemented by 9am on Sunday 15th October 2017. Please allow extra time for your journey especially if you are driving through Leicester from the north to reach the start line.

Following recent works in the city centre there are a few small changes to the route as you come back through the city on the way through to the finish for 2017.

Check out both the Leicester Half and Leicester Full Marathon routes, complete with elevation graphs below.

In Particular runners should note the split point of the full and half marathon routes (between miles 5 & 6). Full marathon runners should keep right before turning right at the roundabout towards Syston and the full marathon route, whilst half marathon runners should keep left and turn left along the top edge of Watermead Park. The split will be obvious, with marshals and signage to guide you through.

Total Ascent for The Half Marathon: 293ft / 89m

Total Ascent for The Full Marathon: 620ft / 189m
