Run the world
Run the World is a new and unique challenge that will see the whole Run Leicester community and beyond come together as a team and cover tens of thousands of miles all the way around the world live on an interactive map. Replacing the original Run Leicester Festival scheduled for this autumn, we embarking on a route around all of the world’s most famous cities and iconic landmarks from Europe to Africa, Asia and beyond!
The Run Leicester Half is our flagship event and will see thousands of runners take on the 13.1 mile distance. With roads closed for the duration of the event and entertainment to keep your legs moving, runners will have Leicester’s city streets all to themselves. A newly revised route is still being finalised and will be announced at the end of May, but is expected to start from Victoria Park, heading through the city and out along Leicester’s golden mile, before looping back in and taking in more of the city iconic landmarks.
Run Leicester Marathon
The Run Leicester Marathon pits runners against the gruelling, but iconic 26.2 mile distance. Starting from the Race Arena in Victoria Park you’ll follow the Half Marathon route before branching off onto an additional loop and returning via some of Leicester’s iconic landmarks in the city centre. A newly-revised route is still being finalised and will be announced at the end of May. Expect plenty of entertainment on route to keep you going all the way to the finish line!
